Nursery Practitioner (L3)

Location: Charters Day Nursery, College Road, Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire WD5 0GU

Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary:  £18,745 per annum including Location Allowance (depending on qualifications, skills and abilities)

With that being said, we’re currently recruiting for a qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our ever growing team.

This job is responsible for supporting the Room Supervisor and Deputy Nursery Manager in providing a high quality nursery provision, catering for children aged from 3 months to 5 years, at the Nursery. The nursery is committed to the overarching aim of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework which guides the work of all our early years’ practitioners.  The primary focus of the role is to deliver a range of high quality creative and developmental nursery activities in line with policies and practice of the Nursery that meet standards and regulatory requirements.

The key elements of the post are to:

  • Work as a member of the nursery team, showing initiative and creativity and fostering an environment which encourages the children’s all round development and where high standards of care are provided
  • Act as a keyworker to allocated children
  • Encourage the participation of parents and carers
  • Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided at all times.

Essential skills, qualifications & Experience (Not limited to):

  • Qualification in childcare, level 3 or higher and significant experience of working with children
  • Good knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage and other curriculum
  • Experience of working within early years nursery provision
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of current childcare legislation, national standards and frameworks
  • Good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures (in relation to Child Protection), and Safeguarding Certificate
  • Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Outlook and Email and ability to learn new skills
