Location: Charter House , Watford with travel to other YMCA sites as operationally required

Our Central Services team includes the Finance, HR and Property & Compliance functions. This job is responsible for supporting the Management Accountant in the preparation and monitoring of management accounts across all companies and departments
a) Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Early Childhood Partnership subsidiary and other business units as required, including variance analysis against budget and forecast and budget manager liaison
b) Provide a support and advice service by working with all departments and the service managers to interpret and communicate financial data and to assist in financial decisions
c) Assisting and supporting budget holders in the production of budgets and forecasts for all business units
d) Calculating and posting accruals and prepayments and other journal entries
e) Calculating and posting intercompany recharges and reconciliations
f) Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
g) Cash Management – updating cash receipts, reconciliation of petty cash, cash flow management and reporting
h) Accounts Receivable including raising sales invoices and credit control for all business units
i) Assist in managing the fixed asset register
j) Assist with interim and year end audit
A DBS disclosure is required for this position.
Knowledge, qualifications and experience
Knowledge of all areas of financial accounting (ledger work, VAT, reconciliations etc.) √
AAT qualified √
Part CIMA qualified or equivalent √
Previous management accounting experience √
Knowledge of financial policies and procedures √
Previous experience of working within a finance department, ideally within a complex organisation with multiple income streams √
Proficient in the use of ERP accounting systems √
Proficient in the use of Sun Systems accounting software √
Microsoft Excel skills (intermediate / advanced) √
Understanding and some experience of payroll administration √
