Location: Woodlands Centre, Leavesden Country Park, Abbotts Langley, Herts WD

Hours :as required; £9.00 per hour

This work involves being the first point of call for telephone and in‐person visitors to the Centre and is responsible for creating a welcoming, helpful and caring front of house environment and for receiving and recording payments on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure the ‘front of house’ area is covered at all times during your shift, keeping it clean and tidy
  • To ensure that all viisitors are dealt with efficiently and pleasantly ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of customer service
  • To provide such information as is required to assist with sales.
  • To take bookings for facility use and ensure visitors always pass through the reception area prior to use of the facilities
  • To be competent in dealings with money, cashing up and banking procedures
  • To operate the switchboard and deal with general telephone enquiries or direct them to the appropriate area if unable to assist, within the agreed timescales for answering calls
  • To deal promptly with enquiries and complaints, being aware of the decision making responsibilities of the role, and to refer any queries to the line

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

Understanding of Customer service
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
Experience of communicating and dealing with people in a customer care setting
Previous reception experience

APTITUDES, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Sound interpersonal skills, able to communicate with a wide range of people
Good administration skills and telephone manner
Ability to prioritise a varying workload
Willing to undertake training as required by the employer
Tidy appearance, helpful, patient and pleasant manner

Cover shifts will be offered to you as required to meet the needs of the One YMCA. The YMCA will try to give you as much notice as possible when shifts are available.
