Watford YMCA gym opened on 21st Feb 1978  and has had many face lifts in its 40 years history in Watford town centre.

It was opened by Prince Charles and as you can see, he even tried out the “high tech” 1970’s kit in the picture below

Back to today the building with its 8 floors of hostel accommodation and  multi floored health club still finds itself delivering community centred health and fitness to all in the very heart of Watford’s newest development. Clubs such as Watford Kung Fu, Watford Volleyball Club, Aikido and many more have started and flourished within our centre, and we are proudly expanding our current gymnastics offering alongside Watford Gymnastics Club to offer Gymnastics to all levels and abilities from ages 1-100!

We pride ourselves on our welcoming and all-inclusive fitness we have something for everyone from Body Pump – Spin – Zumba and Pilates Classes and a class daily for anyone over the age of 60 looking for a fun community to join not only for exercise and to keep fit but to meet friends and socialise. Our Gym is fully equipped with free weights, cardio, functional areas and even a female only training studio just for the girls. We appreciate that the word gym for some can be intimidating but we try to offer a fun welcoming environment that is truly for everyone!
