Location: Bishops Stortford & Stevenage

Salary: £21,879.00 per annum

Full-time: 37.5 hours a week.

The job requires working flexible hours in accordance with the rota, that are negotiated with the line manager, and that are in line with the needs of the service users.
Shift starting times range between 8am – 2pm and end times range between 4pm – 10pm.
This role involves travel between sites as such a full driving licence and suitably insured car available during working hours is essential.

This job is responsible for providing housing support in a high-quality housing service at our hostel at Northgate End, Bishops Stortford and at the Asylum Seeker project in Stevenage.
Northgate End supports homeless individuals to move on into safe accommodation and a stable lifestyle, The job is part of a team providing personal counselling, support and enablement to people with a variety of support needs, including mental health issues, offenders, family breakdown, alcohol/drug issues.

The Asylum Seeker project works with unaccompanied asylum seeker children (UASC) aged between 16 and 17 years old. These are all looked after children under the care of Hertfordshire County Council social services.

The Supported Housing Officer will assist residents through developing and delivering appropriate support plans, designed to support the move to independence.

Develop a positive image for their presence and participation in the community
Develop opportunities to enhance their skills appropriate to their lifestyle.
Offer choices that are appropriate to their needs and have due regard for their safety
Assist with the development of asylum seeker services
