Location: Based in Welwyn & Hatfield with travel across the district
Salary: £10712.16 per annum (£22,317 FTE)
Hours of work: 18 hours per week – flexible
Family Centres are places where children under 11 years old and their families can receive seamless integrated services and information. It is also where they can access help from a range of multi-disciplinary teams of professionals.
The primary focus of the role is to manage all aspects of our volunteering opportunities, from recruitment to working within our Family Support Service.
The post holder’s main duties will include:
a) Identify volunteering opportunities in conjunction with the District Managers
b) Write and review volunteer role descriptions to support the smooth delivery of services to local families with children under 11 years of age.
c) Develop and deliver a training programme for new volunteers as well as retaining ongoing oversight of updates required for existing volunteers.
d) Recruit and induct volunteers,
e) Work with colleagues in identifying the needs of the local community with particular emphasis on the needs of the most vulnerable groups
Knowledge, Skills & Education
Level 3 qualification in adult learning, Qualified Assessor or equivalent experience
Demonstrable experience of recruiting, training, inducting and managing volunteers
Experience of planning and delivering adult training
Experience of working within a childcare, family support setting √ Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Understanding of the issues faced by diverse communities and barriers to inclusion
Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and Safeguarding Certificate
