What is our Horizons Therapeutic Support for children and young people?

We can offer either one to one play therapy, therapeutic group work and counselling sessions to children and young people aged 4yrs โ€“ 18yrs, impacted by domestic abuse, living in Bedfordshire. We aim to deliver play therapy in the childโ€™s school but where schools are not able to offer a space during lockdown, we can use local safe spaces such as childrenโ€™s centres, with prior notice.

We have fully qualified PTUK/BACP Play therapists/Creative Counsellors which enables us to offer placements for Trainee Play Therapists and Counsellors.

What sessions can we deliver?

  • Play Therapy
  • Therapeutic group work
  • Talking Therapies
  • Non-talking and creative therapies
  • Protective Behaviours
  • Therapeutic Life Story Work

Who can access this?

  • Child/ren living in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton
  • A child experiencing domestic abuse or recovering from the trauma of domestic abuse

Please note, our play therapy service is funded by various funders and contractors which means our criteria is specific to where the child or young person resides. Please contact us for further information.
