Salary: £21,662 per annum ( part-time available)
The YMCA is continuing its exciting and ambitious development of our youth and community activities, ensuring that our various services work in an integrated and responsive way. Our youth and community activities are themed by general youth work, project-based, mobile and mentoring. The YMCA aims to ensure that each young person can progress between our specialisms in each location and, where possible, each neighbourhood.
Reporting to the Youth Work Manager, a Youth Worker is responsible for delivery and coordination of a range of outreach and centre based youth work with young people aged 11-25 years and in line with the YMCA Youth Work Strategy and Principles. The activities will include evening sessions a week, occasional weekends and daytime during holidays.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Youth Work and ideally a JNC recognised qualification
Experience of working with young people from different backgrounds, providing a range of activities and support
Knowledge of the potential barriers that young people face
Experience of collaborative working with others (colleagues and other agencies)
Knowledge of Health and Safety Practice and risk assessments within a relevant environment
First Aid at Work Qualification or willing to undertake a qualification
Child Protection/Safeguarding Level 2 or equivalent
Full driving license and ideally a D1 classification for minibus driving
