The Wishing Tree Appeal took place at Harpur Centre in Bedford and each year this amazing local effort has become a lifeline for underprivileged families in the area. We received around an amazing 2000 gifts from the community, as well as presents gifted by Sainsbury’s, BPHA, gaming platforms and anonymous donations. We were overwhelmed with the kindness radiating among the Bedford community.
“Thank you so much for the presents you have given us, without these I’m not sure my children would have received any. My daughter really enjoyed the scuttle bug she received and we can’t wait until we can go out on it properly.”
Over Christmas, we delivered and distributed 66 Christmas food hampers, toiletries and toys to families who are in need of our services.
We were also gifted 4 Christmas trees and decorations, 3 TV’s, 2 DVD players, bedding and kitchen utensils, baby clothes and other baby resources, 1 fridge freezer, 1 sofa and several bags of clothes and shoes to go to the families.
A massive THANK YOU goes out to our community who supported us and our volunteers who have shown so much kindness over Christmas.
