We would like to thank the following companies for their support over Christmas…

Food and warm clothing were donated by Grupo Bimbo LTD in WGC. Big thank you to Fatima Bibi for her support and delivery.

Shoebox welfare provisions were donated from Project Shoebox Herts & Bucks. We were also supported by Thomas Dixon who entertained our residents with on-line magic. A huge thank you to Thomas and Jasmine Lewis for all their support.

Big shout to Helping Herts Homeless for their generous donation of gift bags and £10 gift vouchers for those at Welwyn Garden City Hostel. And a huge thanks to Christchurch for giving a £125 donation and 50 gift bags.

And lastly, a BIG well done to all the teams at Welwyn Garden City Hostel for continuing to work hard and unite as one big team during a very difficult period. You have all been amazing and gone above and beyond for the service we offer to people in need.

Staff, volunteers and the wider community pulled out the stops to bring in a feast over Christmas and made sure those residents who couldn’t spend the day with loved ones still had a great time.

A special thanks goes to our night workers Faisal Younis and Travis Henry who worked to cover reception all day on Christmas Day, enabling housing staff to cook and be with residents.

During the pandemic we aimed to deliver an effective and successful service that overcame the barriers of 2020 and we succeeded. Our team grew and have shown that even in difficult times One YMCA can survive and grow as an organisation to support your local communities.
