CAE Technology Services

Your background

After university, my career began over 20 years ago in sales, working for an IT reseller. My guiding principle was always about doing my best for the customer. As I progressed through the business at CAE Technology Services, customer centricity, collaboration and accountability have stayed with me as core values.

My sales career transitioned into a broader operations leadership role, and I have got to understand the workings of a business to help develop significant operational gain.

In 2018, my business partner and I completed a management buyout of CAE and since then we have grown the business to become a Best Companies’ World Class Company to Work For, Ciscoโ€™s UK&I Partner of the Year and expanded our capabilities to become a true international technology transformation partner across multiple industries.

I am interested in connecting with leaders who are looking to transform their businesses through technology.

Organisation’s background

Founded in 1992, CAE Technology Services is an IT infrastructure solutions provider with a service-led approach combining technology, people, and process.

Starting from a small team to now having over 350 employees across six UK locations, the companyโ€™s dedication to โ€œpeople and outcomesโ€ is what differentiates them, along with its company culture, excellent working environments, and development opportunities.

CAE recognises that by living its values, its people are the source of its agility and are ultimately the reason for the organisationโ€™s success, and so it puts learning and development at the forefront of the business.

Fast-forward to now, and many things have changed in our business, the industry, and the world around us. The one constant is that CAE continue to embrace change, consistently understand what people need, and providing the services that enable technology to transform lives, delivering more good days.

Why is it important for a company to work with a charity?

CAE recognises the importance that the profit and success of a business should be used to drive purpose.ย  What becomes important is what we do with it; how we use it to drive and support.ย  For us to continue to deliver our purpose it takes investment in the business and support in areas that affect the wider community.

Itโ€™s converting perceived short-term gains into long term purposeful culture that makes what our organisation is โ€“ a place where together we can achieve more.

The CAE Foundation was created to match the longevity of our business with a long-term partnership with chosen charities managed by our Trustees; aligned to our Just Cause โ€˜to eliminate digital exclusion by bringing solutions to people and places experiencing digital poverty.

Why do you want to work with us at One YMCA?

One YMCA has been serving the local community in Hertfordshire for 135 years.ย  Their reach has continued to extend, supporting thousands of vulnerable individuals including children and young people under 25.

The CAE Foundation not only provides financial support and expertise, but we are also particularly proud to help the 150+ residents of Charter House in having a dedicated computer suite, giving them access to the same resources and facilities as their peers as they develop and progress towards employment and independent living.

What are you most excited about for Corporate Connect Club?

Local business coming together to make life changing and saving differences to the most vulnerable in our community.

Your background

My background is in acting, I first appeared in Grange Hill, & have always had a huge love for the arts, I love just getting lost in a show. After many years of trying to crack the industry and many auditions later, I felt it was time to hang my theatre shoes up and travel Europe to see what was next! I then found my next love, radio! I have now worked in audio & media for 15 years, having worked for regional and national stations, now Iโ€™m the station director for Heart Hertfordshire where Iโ€™ve been for the last 12 years.

Having started out as an account manager, I now run operations and lead a team.

I have successfully grown many business relationships with key stakeholders and charities and I make it my absolute priority to make a difference within the community, having been born in Watford, Hertfordshire is at the core of everything I do.

Five years ago I launched the Hertfordshire Hero Awards and Itโ€™s a privilege to be able to use our platform to help give those across the county an opportunity to share their stories and to be recognised for the amazing work they continue to do in the community.

I am passionate about connecting with businesses that are looking to grow their brand and engage with our listeners.

Why is it important for a company to work with a charity?

CSR is very important to me. Heart Hertfordshire recognise the need to support our local people, and we are very lucky to have a loyal following both on air and off, and so we are able to broadcast key information to the right people at the right time and support the local community, with key initiatives and to give back where we can.

Why do you want to work with us at One YMCA?

We can help engage our listeners to help support the charity and to make a difference, we can give the key information from One YMCA and inform our listeners on how they can help. Itโ€™s a privilege to be able to play our part and help the amazing work one YMCA deliver.

What are you most excited about for Corporate Connect Club?

The CCC provides a frontline between stakeholders and the amazing One YMCA, this will help facilitate communication and therefore be mutually beneficial to all parties.
