One YMCA’s vision is that all people can belong, contribute and thrive in their local community. We cannot achieve our mission without the help of passionate and dedicated volunteers, corporate partners, and donors.

We need people like you to energise and inspire people within the community. By spreading awareness and raising funds for our critical services, we hope that together we can build positive, supportive communities.

What do we do?

The fundraising team raise vital funds so that we can continue to provide our community critical services. Bringing in unrestricted income allows us to focus on funding areas in our community that need the most support at the current time. This could include funding skills training for our hostel residents, therapy sessions for families in our children’s centres and new equipment for our youth clubs. Public fundraising allows us to take our services to the next level.

Why do we need you?

It’s a really exciting time to be a part of One YMCA. This year we launched a new strategy called Mission 25 where we are aiming to do MORE, and BETTER. In fact, by 2025 we hope to double our impact. But we can’t do it without the support of our amazing volunteers.
One YMCA was made by the community, for the community. We are aiming to build a healthy, happy local area, where everyone has the chance to fulfil their potential.

What do our volunteers do?

We’re looking for people with a passion for events and fundraising, to help us raise funds for our community-critical projects. The roles vary from being a Community Ambassador, Events Cheerer, Bucket Collector and many more opportunities to volunteer on projects and fundraising campaigns. As a One YMCA volunteer, you will be trained and supported by our staff to give you the confidence to achieve your role.
