Sometimes known as YMCA Youth or One YMCA Youth Work, our goal is to support young people to belong, contribute and thrive. To do this, we lead a diverse range of youth work sessions across Watford, Three Rivers, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Stevenage, Wycombe and Aylesbury. We offer support and advice as well as the simple knowledge that we are a safe environment. We have created vibrant programmes to support development and growth and have a dedicated team of specialist staff and volunteers who work alongside the young people who use our services.
Find out about our work packagesOur facilities
We use existing community spaces to run sessions across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Each session has a capacity of around 20, with outside sessions supporting more. We also carry out outreach work on the streets of the area.
Our youth work model seeks to help young people belong, contribute, and thrive:
- Belong – we provide safe spaces for young people to be part of communities
- Contribute โ we offer opportunities for young people to shape, lead and direct what we do and how we do it together
- Thrive โ we offer support via mentoring and coaching for young people to achieve their potential, realise their aims and reach their goals
Our service is universal and welcomes people of all faiths. If targeted work is required, we adapt our provision to meet the needs of the young people who use our service.
